Hey people, I have not been blogging for about a year.
And now I'm back again:)
This is because I really need a place to write down my girls stuffs.
Today I baked pretzel! And it was the first time I tried making it.
I think it was not that hard but quite time consuming as you need to wait for dough to rise for at least an hour before you get to eat them!
I think they turned out so awesome and so yummy!
But in fact, I think some of it taste weird probably I cooked them in the water with soda for too long-.-

Here's I'm gonna share the recipe. Actually I got it online from some website but I couldn't remember which was it. And this is the modified version the recipe :)

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup of warm water (must be warm to activate the yeast)
1 1/8 teaspoons of yeast
1 1/8 teaspoons of salt
2-3 tablespoon of brown sugar/ white sugar
1 cup high protein flour
3 cups of all purpose flour
2 cups of warm water (to make the soda water bath)
2 tablespoons of baking soda
Half stick of butter

Steps:
1) Sprinkle the yeast into the warm water. Do not stir but leave it for 5 minutes.
2) Add the brown sugar and salt and stir to dissolve.
3) Add one cup of flour at a time then knead it until a smooth dough is formed.
4) Leave the dough at room temperature for about 1 hour.
5) After the dough has risen, put the warm water and the soda into a pan and bring it to steam.
6) Start cutting the cough and make it into a rope the shape it.
7) Place them into the water bath with baking soda for about 45 seconds or until they float.( Remember not soaking them for too long!! Or else they will taste bitter!)
8) Put them on the baking sheet and bake at 225 degree Celsius for 13-15 minutes.
9) Let them cool for 5 minutes then dip with whatever toppings that you prefer. (I personally prefer to top with cinnamon sugar- just mix 1/2 cup of sugar + 1 tablespoon of cinnamon then dip your pretzel into the melted butter before you dip it into the sugar mixture.)

As what I mentioned earlier, it was quite complicated but it tastes fantastic. Do give it a try during your free time and hope you enjoy it:)
